Pratyush formed Upnext Hospitality Group in 2019 in Aurora,IL to ensure the optimum valuation of his hotels are maintained, and that investors receive a significant ROI throughout the Hotel Lifecycle for all the properties in the Upnext Hospitality portfolio.
Pratyush Patel was born and finished his high school diploma in India, He finished his Bachelors and Masters education from New Castle, UK. From a very early age, adopted the optimistic entrepreneurial spirit to become successful.
When he came to USA in 2008 to pursue his American Dream, he boldly ventured into uncharted territory, launching his first business in 2009 of Squadic systems Computer Services in Jackson, MI, moving on to purchasing small independent hotel in 2010 proceeding to continuously increase the yearly revenue from $250,000 in 2010 to the final business revenue of $1 million in 2014. He also has successful pharma companies in West Africa.
Starting from the Independent hotel in Jackson, MI, he has consistently grown his roster of highly productive hotels from 1 hotels in 2010 to currently managing over Twenty-eight premium branded select-service hotels, with over $65 million in annual gross revenues with the asset valuation of over $250 million.
His extensive relationships with Banks, Capital Markets, Relationship Groups, Investors, Privately Held Companies, and Private Equity Funds have been instrumental in procuring over $150 million in financing with Lenders to purchase and develop new and existing Hotel Properties. Pratyush considers his affiliation with the Hospitality Industry and various distinguished companies such as Marriott International, IHG, Best Western International, Choice Hotels, Wyndham Worldwide, etc. as a matter of great privilege.

Jigar Chokshi
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Jigar joined as a partner at UpNext Hospitality in 2019. Jigar’s operational excellence helped drive the growth of the company from three hotels to six hotels within the first year. The growth trajectory continued and UpNext Hospitality currently manages over Sixteen premium branded select-service hotels, with over $35 million in annual gross revenues with the asset valuation of over $100 million. By pursuing efficiencies and optimizing the resources at its fullest, Jigar’s team has been able to maintain a portfolio‐wide average Gross Operating Margins of 35%, yielding over $2 million in net profit to its investors in the last six years. Many of the hotels within the portfolio have consistently ranked in the top 20% of TripAdvisor.com and brand Guest Satisfaction Index rankings.
Jigar Chokshi was born in Ahmedabad, India, had his early education in India, and came to Vancouver Canada in 2001 to pursue Higher Education and his overseas Dream. Jigar continued his education through the completion of B.S. in Computer Science from University of BC in 2003. However, instead of pursuing a career in Information Technology, He worked for Lilly Pharmaceutical in Indianapolis as Program Manager till 2009. he chose to pursue his passion in the Hospitality Industry in USA after gain his Green Card in USA.
His first opportunity to lead and manage a hotel came in 2009 when he took over as a General Manager of Holiday Inn Express, located in the Rochelle IL area. As a Resident Manager, he had an opportunity to immerse himself in all areas of hotel operations. Through extensive upgrading of the guest experience and instituting highly effective systems, he increased the revenue by 35% from 2009 to 2011, raising the valuation of the hotel from $2.6 million to $8.5 million. He also part of owner & manages Holiday Inn Express Vernon Hills IL, Comfort Suites Terre Haute IN, Redroof Inn Champaign IL.
Jigar strongly believes that the secret to succeeding in the industry is through compassion, having a servant’s heart, and through giving back to the hospitality community. He does that by serving on the boards of various associations such as Vice-Chair for Holiday Inn Express Owners Committee and Vice-Chair for Sales Task Force Committee for InterContinental Hotel Group Owners. He has also served on the Regional Advisory Board for Choice Hotels. Jigar has the missionary zeal to create value for guests, associates, and investors through owning and operating premium-branded hotels nationwide, and as Jigar likes to put it, “Let’s do it the UpNext Way.”
Nitin Patel
VP of Operation
As Vice President of Operation, Nitin is responsible for the overall performance of UpNext Hospitality's hotel portfolio in all key metrics. These metrics include top-line performance, bottom-line results, guest service, associate satisfaction, and the overall care and maintenance of the physical assets. Nitin supports regional team members to provide support and guidance to the hotel team to maximize returns for key stakeholders, most notably UpNext Hospitality's owners, guests, and associates. Additionally, he works with all of the divisions within the corporate office to ensure that UpNext Hospitality's focus is aligned with their business needs and objectives.
Nitin started his career at a young age by working in a convenience store where he grew up in Massachusetts. From there, he attended and graduated from School of Business at Boston University. Nitin spent 6 years working for his own Quality Inn & Suites Mandota IL. He then joined UpNext Hospitality as partner and Senior Vice President of Operations after selling his owned hotel and focus on Managing UpNext Managing hotels which manages Extended service & Limited service with IHG, Choice, Best Western, Marriott.
In his free time, Nitin enjoys traveling locally and internationally, especially to his & his wife's native India. Nitin also highly involved in Volunteer service in Temple with BAPS Chicago.
Douglas Swatosh
Legal Counsel
As the General Counsel and a member of the UpNext Hospitality Executive Committee, Doug Swatosh oversees all legal and compliance matters for UpNext Hospitality. He's responsible for examining and drafting IT, employment, real estate and vendor contracts, managing copyrights and trademarks, and preserving business records.
Prior to joining UpNext Hospitality, Doug Swatosh served as the General Counsel for many small businesses. Before that, he served as the General Counsel for United Homes Inc., a multi-state home builder and was a partner in Shefsky & Froelich, Ltd., a large law firm in Chicago. Doug Swatosh's education includes a B.S. in Accounting from the Michigan State University and Michigan State University College of Law in Lansing, MI.
In his free time, Doug Swatosh enjoys spending time with his family in Romulus, MI, and his English bulldog, Maggie. Additionally, he was a youth and high school football referee for 22 years before becoming a high school football coach.
Aaron Brown
Region Sales Director (IL, IN, MI, WI)
Aaron excitedly joined UpNext Hospitality in 2024 as a Market Director of Sales, and specializes in driving revenue, cultivating client relationships, and growing business partnerships and opportunities. Having started his career in restaurant management with Hooters of America Inc. and franchise development with Quizno's, he brings 20+ years of Sales & Marketing and Operations Management experience within the hotel industry, including recognition as the top performing DOS within multiple companies. His passion and natural fit is hotel sales.
Aaron carries extensive experience with several global brands, most notably IHG, as well as Choice Hotels International, Marriott, Radisson, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood. Prior to joining UpNext, he was a Regional DOS for a 467-room portfolio in Greater Metro Milwaukee. Aaron welcomes the challenge his new role brings, particularly in continuing growth of our extended-stay segment, collaborating with Hilton, and building a client base for our new hotel properties. Being highly driven and motivated, his focus will remain a dedicated concentration on corporate travel account development, and implementing effective marketing strategies.
Aaron holds a B.S. degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of WisconsinStout, and a Post-Crisis Hospitality Management Certification from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business, among other awards and certifications. He is an AVID sports fan, loves exploring the Caribbean via cruise ships, and collecting bobbleheads and sports memorabilia. His free time is all about his family, his dogs, and relaxing with television.
